Free Stock Trades ? Sure. Just deposit/maintain $25,000 in your Zecco account. Earlier, you would only need to maintain $2500 and you could get free trades.
They still offer very low trading fees even though you don't keep $25000 in the account. Its just $4.50 per stock trade and $.50 per options contract.
I have just recently started trading at Zecco and I quite like it. Zecco still has the best fee structure around for my needs. I don’t do any weird trades or use any fancy charts, so I wouldn’t benefit from features like that. If you’re a basic investor like me, Zecco is a pretty good option.
Zecco is a good choice for non-IRA stock investments, which is exactly what I wanted.
In addition to its cheap trades, Zecco also offers a community for investors called ZeccoShare, where users can blog, compete against each other’s portfolios, join groups and contribute to threads.
The Blogosphere reviews of Zecco have been mostly favorable, with some complaints about the customer service level and money transfer time. In fact, Smart Money Magazine’s 2008 Broker Survey ranked Zecco’s customer service the worst. But most say the low-cost service and easy sign-up more than makes up for this.
At least, for now its working out for me.
Trade stocks for free by opening an account with Zecco.

Soon you will have to throw in $50,000 to get free trade, although the commission is still reasonably cheap.
